Comparison of the range of elbow movement after elbow surgery with immobility in extension and flexion in Children
Abstract
The goal of this study is comparison of range of motion of elbow immobilized in flexion and extension position after surgery
Materials and Methods
This study is designed as a cross sectional study with the sample of children whom attended the emergency departments with elbow fractures. This study is conducted in emergency department of Shohada hospital of Tabriz November 1399 to November 1400. In this cross-sectional study, 100 patients will be randomly assigned to one of the two groups. In all cases after bone fixation the result would be examined with fluoroscopy. The joint range of motion will be
registered two months after the operation. The final clinical examination and radiographic evaluation will be performed at Baumann angle and between the open and end bones (Homocapital) and Carrying angle 6 months after surgery.Collected data recorded. The data analaized with SPSS 21st edition .The relation between quantitive variables assessed by independent t test and qualitive variables by Chi-square comparized.P-values less than 0.05 is considered significant.
Results:The average age of participents in this study was 5.98±1.97 years and 45% were girls and 55% were boys. The analysis of first week to 6th week the range of motion between two groups was not significantly different, also there was not significantly difference in recovery of function of elbow joint between two groups.
