The effect of systemic delivery of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells on the apoptosis in lung tissues of ovalbumin-induced asthmatic male rats
Abstract
In this study, effect of systemic delivery of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells on the apoptosis in lung tissues of ovalbumin-induced asthmatic male rats
were examined.
Methods: Forty male Wistar rats were enrolled in the current experiment. Eghit rats were randomly used for isolation of mesenchymal stem cells. The remaining rats were equally assigned into four experimental groups; control (C); control +Cells (C+ Cells); Asthmatic (A) and Asthmatic + Cells (A + Cells). Two weeks post-transplantation, the expression of related genes was assessed along with pathological changes in the lung tissues.
Results: Data showed pathological changes in lung tissue of asthmatic groups coincided with the up-regulation of Caspase-3،Bax, Bax/Bcl-2 ratio and down regulation of Bcl-2 in the asthmatic groups compared to the C group. mesenchymal stem cells inhibited OVA -induced changes.
