Abstract
Abstract Introduction: Numerous individual and environmental factors may affect the career success of nurses. Considering the importance of work environment conditions in nurses' work, it seems that it is important to study these two categories in emergency departments, which are closely related to human life.. Aim: The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between career success and the working environment of nurses working in the emergency departments of educational hospitals in Tabriz. Methods: In this descriptive-correlational study, 200 nurses working in the emergency departments of Tabriz educational hospitals were selected based on cluster sampling method. Information, in addition to contextual data, nurses' career success questionnaires and work environment conditions were used. The collected data were analyzed in SPSS version 21 using descriptive and analytical tests. Results: The mean and standard deviation of career success (range 39 to 195) and work environment conditions (range one to four) were 168.59 54 15.54 and 2.64 48 0.48, respectively. The results showed that the relationship between career success and work environment conditions is not statistically significant, but the effective career progress subscale of the career success questionnaire has a significant relationship with most subscales of work environment conditions. Conclusion: According to the findings, although the nurses showed acceptable career success, they did not consider the working environment conditions favorable. This study showed that nurses 'work environment conditions can affect some aspects of nurses' career success. Therefore, nursing managers and leaders need to improve work environment conditions to help nurses achieve a higher level of career success. In addition, this study shows that there is a need for further studies on the career success of emergency nurses and changes in the workplace to increase the career success of nurses, especially emergency nurses.
