Expression comparison of miR-506 ,miR-184 in tumoral and marginal tissues of Melanoma specimens
Abstract
Melanoma skin cancer is one of the most important causes of mortality in the world. Micro-RNA, as genes involved in various cellular processes specific to apoptosis and cell migration, suggests an important role to play in proposition or soldiers. miR-506 and miR-184 are important genes that make expression and epigenetics needed again and again in several applications. In the present study, the aim was to investigate the change in the relative level of expression of these genes in tumor samples with melanoma.
Methods: During this study, tumor samples from 40 patients and 40 samples from marginal tissue around the tumor were collected as a control sample. After collecting RNA related to the samples, the samples were extracted and the expression of the desired gene was evaluated using real-time PCR. Differences in expression levels of the two groups were assessed by appropriate statistical tests. In statistical tests, Pvalue <0.05 was considered significant.
Results : The expression of miR-184 in tumor samples was lower than healthy samples and in contrast, the expression of miR-506 was higher in tumor samples and the difference in both cases was significant in the confidence interval. Also, in some cases, these expression changes were related to the clinical and pathological features of the patients.
