چکیده
Strabismus is a condition in which the visual axes of the two eyes are not the same; This misalignment of the eye axis can be accompanied by impaired movement of one or both eyes, diplopia, decreased vision, eye discomfort, headache, or an abnormal condition. Due to the importance of the least intervention and the variable results of studies in this field and the lack of a similar study in the region, the present study was conducted to evaluate the results of single muscle surgery in patients with horizontal strabismus. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, after the plan was approved by the bioethics committee of the researcher region, with the permission of the head of the charity center, the archive was referred to the archive and the files of all patients diagnosed with sensory strabismus, horizontal strabismus, isotropy, exotropia were extracted within 10 years. And entered the information required for the study in a data collection form that has already been developed by the researcher. The collected information includes demographic information (age and sex), clinical characteristics of the patient (type of strabismus, degree of deviation before and after surgery, congenital or acquired, amblyopia and visual acuity), type of surgery, muscle size removed There were complications of surgery and duration of follow-up. Results: In this study, 29 patients were included in the study, of which 10 patients (34.5%) were exotropic and 19 (65.5%) were isotropic. In this study, the male sex was significantly higher in the exotropic group. The success rate of ocular muscle surgery in patients with horizontal strabismus was not significantly related to the type of strabismus. Complications of ocular muscle surgery in patients with horizontal strabismus were not significantly different between the two groups. There was no significant difference in clinical features in patients with horizontal strabismus who underwent ocular muscle surgery. There was also a correlation between clinical features and surgical success rate in patients with horizontal strabismus who underwent eye muscle surgery. did not have.
