Abstract
Cerebrovascular disorders are informed of all abnormal functions of the central nervous system that result from the brain's natural circulatory system. According to studies, about two-thirds of strokes occur over the age of 65. Stroke statistics in Iran are also not very appropriate. Accordingly, considering the importance of the issue from a health, social and economic point of view, the lack of epidemiological information on strokes, as well as the importance of accurate knowledge of its symptoms and the importance of early and timely diagnosis for treatment and rapid intervention of stroke patients. Therefore, according to the mentioned issues, we decided to investigate the delay in the evaluation in the emergency department since the onset of the first symptoms in the patient and to evaluate the existing causes. In order to complete the field and epidemiological statistics of the region and compare it with similar studies in foreign countries, to have useful information for further measures and dealing with patients and to pave the way for further studies. Materials and Methods: Patients referred to the emergency department of Imam Reza Hospital in Tabriz in 2019 who were suspected of having a stroke for diagnostic tests and had a stroke registered in the study were included in the sample size. And information was extracted from patients' records. Results: In this study, 830 patients were studied. In this study, the mean age was about 72years. Only 23.6% of patients with EMS were brought to the emergency room, the rest were referred by companions and by personal device. 51.6% of patients Female and 48.4% of patients were male. 27.1% of patients had a history of cardiovascular disease, 61.8% had a history of underlying disease and 13.9% had a history of previous stroke. In patients with a positive face test and a positive speech test, there was a significant relationship between the onset of symptoms and hospitalization with increasing duration.
