The survey of relationship between patient safety culture and psychosocial factors in the personnel of Imam Khomeini Hospital in Parsabad

Abstract
Abstract Introduction: Among the different occupational groups, hospital staff in the health care sector are one of the most important groups because their main responsibility is to maintain and promote the level of public health. Usually in the workplace, various occupational factors including physical and ergonomic factors, organizational factors and psychosocial factors affect the health of staff including nurses. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between patient safety culture and psychosocial factors in hospital staff. Methods: This is a cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study. 190 staff from Imam Khomeini Hospital were enrolled by census method. Data were collected using the HSOPSC Patient Safety Culture Questionnaire and the Copenhagen Psychological Questionnaire (COPSOQ) to assess psychosocial status among hospital staff and data were analyzed in SPSS 16 software. Results: The average response to psychosocial factors was moderate. The highest and the lowest scores on the positive psychosocial dimensions were respectively related to the dimensions of "work value" and "reward" and the highest and lowest on the "affection demands" and "offensive behaviors" respectively. Score obtained. In terms of patient safety culture, we concluded that patient safety culture was moderate among hospital staff with a score of 66.8, according to the study agreement on a mean score between 50 and 75. Among the twelve dimensions of patient safety culture, the highest score was for "teamwork within organizational units" (85.3%) and the lowest score was for "communication channel openness" (33.2%). . Modeling univariate regression to correlate the total score of patient safety with psychosocial factors showed that total score of patient safety culture with ten of 16 dimensions included: "emotional needs", "impact on work", "reward", " There was a significant relationship between social support from carers, "work-family conflict", "trust and confidence", "justice and respect", "burnout", "stress" and "offensive behavior" (0/01 > p) Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, patient safety culture has a significant relationship with the status of psychosocial factors among the hospital staff studied. Therefore, it seems that managers of different levels of health care system and hospital have an important role in considering factors affecting On the psychosocial status of the personnel, it improves the health status and quality indicators of the human resources and enhances the patient safety culture in the health care organizations, which ultimately improves the quality of health care and community health.
