Investigation of the outcome of hospitalized patients in the infectious ward of Imam Reza and Sina Hospital due to fuo

Abstract
Fever is one of the most common symptoms that occurs in various diseases and can be a very effective symptom in various diseases. Diagnosing the source of the fever can play an important role in designing the patient's treatment plan. In the present study, by evaluating the outcome of hospitalized patients, FUO was performed in order to improve the care of patients with fever of unknown origin. Due to the fact that patients admitted with FUO need to reach the final diagnosis and start treatment appropriate to the diagnosis and will have different consequences based on individual characteristics and the type of disease, the results of this study can accelerate the process of diagnosis and treatment of this group of patients and improve Clinical implications of their use. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, all cases of patients admitted to Imam Reza and Sina Infectious Diseases Ward during the last 10 years, ie from 2009 to 2019, who were admitted with a diagnosis of FUO, were reviewed and their outcome was recorded. Results: In the present study, 120 patients were studied, of which 53.3% were female and 46.7% were male. The mean age of the patients was about 43 years. 50.8% of patients were urban and 49.2% were rural. 80% of patients had complete recovery with final diagnosis, 17.5% of patients had recovery without final diagnosis and 2.5% of patients had no improvement.
