Status of Strategic Thinking in educational and research deputy managers of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in 1395

Abstract
One of the essential skills of managers to effectively manage the organization and confront future developments is the periphery of strategic thinking. This kind of thinking is essential at all organizational levels. The main function of strategic thinking is the creation of a perspective that identifies the desired direction for the organization's movement. Aims: The purpose of this study was to investigate the status of strategic thinking in the managers of the field of education, research and technology of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences in 1395. Methodology and context: This is a cross-sectional descriptive-analytic study. The study population is all senior and middle managers of the field of education, research and technology of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, which has been studied in census form. The instrument used in this study was a standard strategic thinking questionnaire whose validity and reliability were confirmed. After entering the data into SPSS software version 23, Shapiro-Wilk's tests, independent t-test, Mann-Whitney, variance One-way, Tukey and Kruskal-Wallis are used for analyzing data. Findings: Based on the findings, most senior and middle managers in the field of education (88.2) and the field of research and technology (89.5) have poor strategic thinking. Also, the highest score in the elements of strategic thinking in the field of education related to the element of imaging future and focused on it (28.9) and in the field of research and technology related to the decision-making element on the basis of hypothesis (28.8) and the greatest weakness of the managers of the two domains in the infrastructure of thinking Strategically relevant element is to understand position based on learning (24.3). It was also observed that there is a significant relationship between the status of strategic thinking and the job experience (p = 0.03). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the strategic thinking and each of its infrastructures is inappropriate in the senior and middle managers of the field of education and the field of research and technology of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. Also, the results indicate that the job experience is an effective variable on the status of strategic thinking the managers of the university have increased their work experience. Strategic thinking skills are reduced, which is necessary to improve the status, serious measures in the fields of education and skills training of university administrators and to select this skill as a criterion for selecting and evaluating face managers.
