Abstract:
Design of augmented reality application to facilitate the process of teaching and learning the Computer networking course of health information technology students
Introduction: Computer networking course is one of the specific courses in the health information technology (HIT) educational program. During the learning process, hardware equipment is introduced, the learning of which requires a visual understanding of them. therefore, the use of new educational technologies that create this capability for the learner, can facilitate the process of teaching and learning this lesson. In the last half century, Augmented Reality has emerged as a new technology in education, and because access to information through it is visual, it makes the learning process more active. The aim of this study has been done to design an augmented reality application for networking course and also to determine the user-friendliness of the software among of health information technology students(HIT).
Methods: The descriptive study has been done HIT student of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences who have passed the network course. after the production of Augmented Reality content by Unity software, the content is provided to students. The determination of user friendliness of software has been done by UEQ-S questionnaire to measure Pragmatic Quality and Hedonic Quality and its results have been analyzed.
Results: The Pragmatic Quality score =2.388, the Hedonic Quality score= 2.325 and the overall score= 2.356 have been obtained.
Conclusion: The scores show that network augmented reality software has been evaluated positively by students.
