Study the Serum levels of Mannose Binding Lectin-2, Tenascin-C and Total Antioxidant Capacity with Extent in Coronary Artery Disease

Abstract

The aim of this study is evaluation of MBL-2, TN-C and TAC serum level in patients With CAD and alse association of this biomedical parameter with CAD extension.

Subjects and Methods : 80 subject, including 60 with CAD and 20 as a normal group were considered. patients were divided into three groups, including 20 subjects with single vessel disease , 20 subjects with two vessel, and 20 subjects with three vessel disease were divided. Serum levels of MBL-2 and TN-C determined used by ELISA. TAC concentration in serum samples was determined by chlorimetry (spectrophotometry). Serum level MDA was measured based on reaction with Thiobarbituric acid (TBA).

Results : Serum levels of MBL-2, TN-C, and MDA in the patient group were significantly increased compared to the normal group and also the serum level TAC in the normal group was significantly higher than the patient group. Serum levels of MBL-2 in the 3VD, 2VD and 1VD groups with the normal group were significantly increased (P= 0/001,P= 0/01, p= 0/04) and in TN-C there was a significant difference between the 3VD, 2VD and 1VD groups with the normal group. (P< 0/001, P= 0/002, P= 0/04). Serum levels TAC were also significantly increased between the normal group with 3VD, 2VD and 1VD (P< 0/001, P= 0/001, P= 0/04) and between the 1VD group with 3VD (P= 0/02) . In MDA also between the 3VD group, 2VD and 1VD were significant with the normal group (P= 0/001, P=0/001, P= 0/04). and between the 3VD group and the 1VD group (P= 0/04).
