Investigation of ineffective presenteeism and its relationship with various dimensions of psychosocial factors in the workplace in an industrial company in Tabriz

Abstract
Abstract Introduction & Objective: presenteeism in the workplace is defined as lack of focus or lack of successful completion of work. presenteeism has a negative impact on the physical and mental health of individuals, productivity and the economy of the organization. In this regard, the present study was conducted to investigate the presenteeism and its relationship with various dimensions of psychosocial factors in the workplace in an industrial company in Tabriz. Methods and Materials: In this cross-sectional descriptive-analytical study, 194 personnel working in an industrial company in Tabriz were selected and studied in two stages. The instruments used in this study were demographic questionnaire, COPSOQ and SPS-6. In the first stage, the SPS-6 questionnaire was translated using the standard method and their psychometric properties were evaluated using face validity, content, structure and reliability. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation test at a significance level of 0.05. Results: Based on the results of the first stage, the mean score of content validity index (CVI) and content validity ratio (CVR) were 0.92 and 0.78, respectively, and were higher than 0.79 and 0.49, respectively. The results of structural validity using exploratory factor analysis confirmed the 2D structure of the false presence questionnaire. Also, KMO value was 0.921 and BT value was 854.2 with a significant level of less than 0.001. Cronbach's alpha value was 0.73 with an internal correlation coefficient of 0.96. The results showed that there is a significant positive relationship between presenteeism and psychosocial factors (Pvalue <0.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study showed that the SPS-6 questionnaire has good validity, reliability and validity for use in Persian language and it can be used as a standard and valid tool to measure presenteeism of Iranian employees. The results of the study also showed that psychosocial factors can be considered as one of the reasons for the presenteeism of people in the workplace.
