Abstract
This study was designed to investigate the extent of social health and its impact among medical students in Tabriz in 2019.
Materials and Methods:
The present study is a cross-sectional-analytical study and its statistical population consists of all medical students studying at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences at all levels. The questionnaire consists of two parts, the first part is questions about age, gender, marital status, degree, field of study, year of arrival, indigenous and non-indigenous, and the second part is the translation of the five-dimensional standard social health questionnaire Keyes.
Results:
In this study, 360 students were evaluated. According to the results of this study, the average age of the studied students is 22.54± 2.41.67.2% were female students and 32.8% were male students, of which female students were twice as many as male students. 81.6% were single students and only 18.4% were married students. 43.4% were native students and the rest were non-natives. Of the students surveyed, 32% were in basic sciences, 20.8% were physiopaths, 25% were interns and 22.2% were interns. According to the results, 67.5% of students were in average condition in terms of social health. 7.3% of students were poor and 25.2% of students had high scores in terms of social health status. Native students 'social health status was reported to be significantly higher than non-native students. Marriage, gender did not differ in students' social health scores. Also, internship students had significantly lower social health scores.
