Abstract
Abstract Introduction: Effective communication is a vital element of nursing care. Nurses can increase the quality of nursing services by establishing proper communication with the patient and his family. On the other hand, care is the essence of nursing and treatment is basically impossible without care. Nurses' communication skills and caring behaviors are very important due to the special conditions of pediatric wards. Objective: To determine mothers' perceptions of nurses' communication skills and its relationship with nurses' caring behaviors in Tabriz Children's Educational and Medical Center in 1398 Methods: The present study is a descriptive-correlational study that was performed on 194 mothers of children hospitalized in the wards of Tabriz Children's Hospital. Samples were randomly selected. There were nurses. In order to analyze the data, SPSS software and descriptive statistics, independent t-test and analysis of variance were used. Results: According to statistical tests, there is a positive and significant relationship between mothers' perception of nurses' communication skills and nurses' caring behavior (p = 0.001). (P <0.05). Also, mothers' age, number of children, number of hospitalization days and mothers' education were statistically related to nurses' caring behavior (P <0.05). Conclusion: By increasing the communication skills of nurses with the patient and his family can help improve the quality of care and thus improve treatment outcomes.
