The Effect of Pre-hospital Triage Simulation on Knowledge, Attitude, Performance and Self –Efficacy of Nursing Students.
Abstract
Abstract: Introduction: Nurses are the largest group among medical staff who provide services in critical conditions, for which preparedness of nurses is important. Considering the importance of triage learning for nurses and the controversies about the effectiveness of teaching methods, this study was conducted by the aim of investigating "the effect of pre-hospital triage simulation on knowledge, attitude, performance and self –efficacy of nursing students".
Method: In this quasi –experimental study (two groups before after design) 41 students (experimental group n=21 and control group n=20) of Tabriz Nursing and Midwifery Faculty participated. Three sessions of stimulation Training was provided for experimental group and three sessions of lecturing was used for the control group. Knowledge, attitudes and self –efficacy data were collected using questionnaire and the practice data was collected using performance check lists. Data analyzed with SPSS 21 software.
Results: The use of modern techniques such as simulation promotes nursing students' triage learning, it is therefore necessary to pay close attention to modify teaching of triage for nursing students by utilizing simulation in the training of triage.
