Frequency of Cardiovascular Risk Factors among Nurses of the Emergency and Intensive Wards of Medical Education Hospital of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences.
Abstract
Abstract: Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases are health problem of world, that prevalence of them are increasing. Many factors are effective in incidence of them as like as, inheritance, trepidation, working environment, job and lifestyle. A sample of jobs at risk for this disease is nursing. For as much as nurses are these factors to reducing the rate of risk among them, therefore this research was conducted.
Methods: This research is a descriptive analytical and sectional research, among 650 nurses of the emergency and intensive words of medical educational hospital of Kermanshah University of Medical Science for which 400 nurses choose by stratified random samples in the form of cluster (and proportion of mentioned unit) from all centers. The tools of data collecting included questionnaire (for personal and family history of the diseases information) and check list for samples blood tests results (from the view point of diabetes and hyperlipidemia). Collecting data analyzed with and descriptive and analytical statistics through SPSS 13.
Findings: The results of this study suggest 57% of samples were female; relative mean 30.8 years, 88.8 graduate, 79.8% were unit activity. Maximum of risk factors in samples was Triglycerides with prevalence 30.8% and in their family members was hypertension 45.8%. In their family, samples' mothers, 57.9% hypertension; 49.7% hyperlipidemia; 43.3% diabetes was more than from other members. In the total samples' female family members more be at risk. Also subscriber (joint) risk factor in samples and their family was hypertension 73%.
Conclusion: The results of this study did not show significant difference in the prevalence of risk factors between nurses and other people (in other studies). The note bale pint was less support activity in nurses and also large share of hypertension between samples and their family, especially in their mothers.
