The Effect of chemotherapy agents on PD-L1 expression in Lung cancer cell line
Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of common chemotherapy agents used in lung cancer on PD-L1 expression in tumor cells in order to help for selecting appropriate treatment regimens to increase patient survival.
Methods: This study was performed on A549 cell line. First, cancer cells were cultured and the expression of PD-L1 on A549 cell line was measured by qRT-PCR. Then, the proliferation of cancer cells was examined by MTT technique. PD-L1 gene expression was also measured by qRT-PCR in lung cancer after the addition of chemotherapy agents.
Results: The expression of PD-L1 gene increased after 24 and 48 hours after treatment with cisplatin, dostaxel, paclitaxel and carboplatin. The analysis showed that the increase in expression of this gene in response to these agents in both time periods is statistically significant.
