Emotional Quotient Level in Medical Students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences
Abstract
Social intelligence is one of the most important pillars of success in various areas of life, including education, occupation, social environment and mental health, and its upbringing and promotion in medical students from basic sciences can lead to their responsibility and better performance in the course. Materials and Methods:
In this cross-sectional analytical study, 350 students were included .The Ang Tunt Tet questionnaire was given to the undergraduate and physiopathology students by the researcher in the classrooms and about the internship and internship while attending the social medicine department. In addition, the questionnaire was initially about the students' demographic information.
Results:
According to the results of this study, the average age of students was 22.46 ± 2.39. 67.1% were female students and 32.9% were male students, of which female students were twice as many as male students. 69.1% of students were single and only 30.9% of students were married. 43.7% of the students were native and the rest were non-native. Of te students surveyed, 34.6% were in basic sciences, 14.6% were physiopaths, 24% were interns and 26.9% were interns. The overall emotional intelligence score among students was 5. 86. 28.49. Emotional intelligence was significantly lower in clinical sections than in basic sciences.
