Prevalence study of important drug interaction of rivaroxaban in clinic of shahidmadani hospital in 2019

Abstract
In modern medicine, it is surprising if one encounters a patient receiving only one or two medications at a time. The coexistence of multiple medical conditions as well as the need for multidrug therapy play a role in the occurrence of drug interactions. Drug interaction is a change in the nature or effect of drugs due to the simultaneous administration of one or more drugs, foods, or beverages. Drug-drug interaction is one of the known factors influencing drug response and is a prominent cause of drug adverse reactions. Aim: Prevalence study of important drug interaction of rivaroxaban in clinic of shahidmadani hospital in 2019. methods: This study was performed for 8 months in the clinic of ShahidMadani Hospital on 80 patients taking rivaroxaban. In this study, the questionnaire based on the patient's demographic information, recording the history of patient drugs and diseases, social and family backgrounds, individual،laboratory data, and review of the patient’s file , the information were collected. findings: The mean age of patients was 63.9±14.4 years, 16% of patients were smokers and 4% were alcoholics. Most patients had a family history of heart disease. 37.5% of patients were involved in drug interactions. Conclusion: During evaluations of rivaroxaban drug interactions, cardiovascular patients in the clinic of ShahidMadani Hospital were often non-serious and according to uptodate, lexicomp and Interaction facts, no special action is required.
