Comparative study of family physician training program in selected country
Abstract
Objective:
The aim of this study was to compare the general structure and educational objectives, clinical rotations, curriculum titles, evaluation methods, educational strategies and evaluation of residents during the period in order to be effective in future planning of this field.
Methods and material:
In this comparative study, some parts of family medical specialty training program in some universities Selected medical students who are also globally rated and compared with the field training program in Iran. Beredy model was used which identified four stages of description, interpretation and comparison in comparative studies and presented practical suggestions to improve the status of the course educational program in terms of improving the status of each element.
findings:
Despite the differences in course and different focus on education in the field of services in the city, rural and urban areas, educational headings and titles are similar in most universities. Educational strategy mostly emphasized on evidence-based education. Services are among the educational objectives in all selected universities.
Results :
Although the educational program of family medicine course in Iran is relatively suitable compared to the educational program of selected universities, but considering the new field in Iran to solve the existing deficiency, training research methods, teaching methods and evaluation of theory and performance should be reformed and reviewed.
