The Application of Evidence Based Nursing Care Principle in Older Urinary Incontinence referring to Sheikh Al Rais Clinic, 2009.
Abstract
Abstract: Introduction: Today evidence based practice has an important place in cure and care. Nursing is not exceptional of it and some studies were carried out in this field. In this paper, the application of evidence based nursing care principle was studied on the older urinary incontinence.
Methods & Materials: This study is a quasi –experimental design (pretest -posttest). According to the review of literature in the same studies and by attention to the evidence pyramid, nursing interventions were selected. In experimental group Kegel exercise, bladder training and life style modification and in control group common drug therapy was used and the urinary incontinence condition was evaluated after three months.
Results: A meaningful difference in the assessment of the frequency, amount of the incontinence leakage and effect on the life quality was found in the experimental and control groups before and after intervention.
Conclusion: The results of study showed that the evidence based nursing care are effective on the aging women urinary incontinence. The results of this study and the same studies imply that a national clinical guideline should be written in this field.
