Abstract
Abstract: Introduction: coronary artery bypass surgery is one of the most common surgical procedures in cardiovascular disease. While the disease can affect all aspects of life, but the compatibility of these patients are considered less, and should be, more studies done to help these patients adaption. So this study was performed to investigate the relationship between the dimensions of compatibility in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting. Materials and methods: this study is a descriptive- correlative study conducted on 200 patients over 18 years after coronary artery bypass surgery in clinics of heart hospital of Tabriz medical sciences, who were selected by convenience sampling. Data analyzed by descriptive and correlative statistics such as means and Pearson correlation coefficient tests using SPSS version 13. Results: the mean scores of compatibility in physiological aspect 85.13± 9.59 in the role function 39.03±5.59, self-concept 43.00±6.09 and in interdependence dimension were 67.90±24.11 respectively. Also a signification relationship was obtained between the dimensions of compatibility with the overall score (p<0.001). There was a statistically significant association between marital status, age, gender, education and occupation, with compatibility (p<0.001). Conclusion: the results showed that was interaction between different aspects of adaptation with the overall compromise, and one dimension affect the overall compatibility. The nurses can help establish a balance between dimensions of compatibility, thereby coping better with the disease.
