Study on Lifestyle and its Relation with the Pregnancy Outcomes in the Pregnant Women Coming to Educational Hospitals of Tabriz in 2004.

Abstract: Background and Purposes: Life style which is defined as a general way of people's life and individual pattern of their behavior is described as an important factors, influencing people's health. Also each society's health and its development. To some extent is based on women's health and also pregnancy and delivery have important effects on women's health and their hygiene; and it is considered as an important factor of national health. On other hand life style during pregnancy has long lasting effects on both mother and child's health. Since midwives have an important role in assisting pregnant women. So the researcher decided to survey on pregnant women's lifestyle who are referring to obtain educational centers and its relation with pregnancy outcomes. This research is a descriptive analytic study and a kind of correlation in which 385 person from pregnant women referring to Al -Zahra and Taleghani hospitals in Tabriz for delivery who they had those characteristics of researching samples, have been selected by according 3 sections (individual and social characteristic, lifestyle and outcome of pregnancy) and studying the patient's documents, data collected by using SPSS/Win11 and descriptive statistics and also statistical tests of ANOVA and t test.
Results: The results of research indicated that 44.7% of pregnant women's lifestyle being on trial has been averaged and the lifestyle of 55.3% of them has been good. The week situation has just been evaluated in exercising field and at the other subjects; the condition mostly has been evaluated good. According to statistic findings the relation between lifestyle and newborn's weight was meaningful and significant (p=0.006). The relation between doing exercise (as one of the lifestyle factors) and gestational age was determined by using Pearson's correlation coefficient was meaningful (r=0.1, p=0.0046), and also the relation between nutrition (as one of the lifestyle factors) and newborn's weight and gestational age by turn (respectively p=0.033 and p=0.005) is meaningful.
Conclusion: The result of research indicated that the lifestyle's condition and nutrition have meaningful relation with gestational age. Therefore raising women's health in pregnancy period and improving outcomes of pregnancy teaching healthy lifestyle (regular exercise, healthy nutrition, no smoking, proper self -care and acceptable social relations) is recommended in this period by health care –givers.
