Association of life style, quality of life and mental health with health literacy in healthy middle-aged women in Tabriz, 2018
Abstract
Health literacy as one of the most important issues for promoting public health has gained the attention of policy makers. The life style, quality of life and mental health and striving to promote it play important role in health literacy middle aged women. Therefore, purpose of this study was to study relationship of life style, quality of life and mental health with health literacy middle-aged women in Tabriz city in year 2018.
Method: The descriptive- correlation method was used. The statistical population consists of all middle-aged women of Tabriz city in year 2018. In this study, according to convenience sampling method (online), 150 middle-aged women by G-Power software were selected as samples and they were asked to lifestyle questionnaire (LSQ) of Lali Abedi & Kajbaf (2012), 36-item short-form health survey (SF-36) of Ware & Sherbourne (1992), general health questionnaire (GHQ-28) of Goldberg & Hillier (1979) and Health Literacy for Iranian Adults (HELIA) of Montazeri and et al (2014). In this study, were analyzed using Pearson correlation and multivariate regression with using SPSS version 24.
Results: Findings showed that there was negative and significant correlation between e style, quality of life and mental health with health literacy middle-aged women with health health literacy (P<0/01). Regression analyses also revealed that %73/4 of variance of health literacy was explained by e style, quality of life and mental health with health literacy middle-aged women.
