The Survey of the Quality of Children under One Years Old Health Cares in Cooperative Health Centers and Government Health Centers in Tabriz, 2002.

Abstract
Abstract: Introduction: Children are one of the most sensitive group of society that quality and quantity deficiency of theirs health services is a main health and social problem. In Iran, mortality ratio in one years old children in 2000, was 26.7 case among 1000 birth. This ratio in East Azerbaijan was 25.4 case in 1000 birth. Moreover in this province, 5.3% of children were non-ism and 21.5% of them had mild malnutrition and 6.5% had moderate to severe malnutrition. Cooperative health centers for first time in Iran were established in East Azerbaijan as suitable strategy for solving of health problems and restriction of development of government health centers. There for it is necessary to evaluate their quality in compare with government health centers. The results of this study can help to government to improve the health quality especially about children. Materials and Methods: This descriptive and comparative study was done on 7 cooperative health center and 14 government health center that selected by convenience method. Data were collected by filling of checklists by observation of health cares delivered by health cares for children under one years old, also health charts of children was studied. Descriptive (absolute and percent frequency distribution, mean and standard deviation) and comparative (Independent samples t test) statistic were used for analyzing of data. Results: The results showed that the quality of health care in children under one was good 85.71% in cooperative centers and moderate 78.57% in government health centers, and their statistics different was significant (p=0.002). In evaluation of services about growth monitoring of child, nutrition and mothers education, cooperative health centers had better practice in compare to government health centers (p=0.001, 0.007 and 0.023 respectively). In area of available instruments, both of them had good facilities and their statistics different was not significant (p=0.912). Conclusion: The result showed that, in most cases the quality of health care in children under one years old was good in cooperative health centers respectively. Regarding to this mean that the cooperative health centers are suitable strategy for solving of problems and restrictions of development of government health centers, then the results of this study can do main role in planning for improvement of quality of health cares, especially in children under one years old by development of this cooperative health centers.
