Surveying the Level of Knowledge, Attitude and Practice of ICU Unit's Nurses of Tabriz Training –Treatment Center relating to Nosocomial Infections Control in 1381.

Abstract
Abstract: Introduction: Nosocomial infections occur after patient reception in hospital which is connected with a critical number of death and increase treatment costs. About 5 to 10 percent of received patients in hospitals catch some kind of infection. These infections for patients of ICU units, are with clinical phenomena and financial costs. 25 percent of all of infections are reported to be transmitted from blood and Breath in ICU. Members of medical team, especially nurses, must t: 1ave scientific, true and adequate informations about nosocomial infections. Also beliefs tendency and attitude of nurses toward nosocomial infection control and prevention must be studied and improved in order to protect their patients from hospital infection. Methodology: This survey is a descriptive study with aim of finding out the level of knowledge, attitude and practices of ICU unit's nurses in Tabriz Training –Treatment Center about nosocomial infections control. Knowledge evaluation questionnaires consist of 31 questions and attitude bulletin's was categorized into these three responds: I agree, I disagree, I have no idea. Also practice evaluation was done by means of a visual checklist including five parts. Tool validity by means of continent and tools reliability in knowledge and attitude part was appoint according re –examination and in application part was done by madding. Knowledge questionnaires and attitude bulletin, distributed among 115 nurses of ICU units non –randomly. And then using visual checklists, nurses practice evaluated during procedure. One way –ANOVA statistic test and independent T test used for information analysis. Results: Outcomes of this research showed that 93.9 percent of nurses have average, 3.5 percent have a weak and 2.6 percent have a good knowledge in this field. Outcomes in the attitude case made clear that 94.7 percent have positive and 5.3 percent have negative attitude. Also fairly all of models 99.1% have an average practice. Conclusion: Considering that the majority of nurses in this study have average practice and knowledge in the field of nosocomial infection control, the outcomes are responding that more attentions from responsible people in essential in this specific topic in order to apply the necessary actions for training and reforming the false beliefs and view of nurses.
