Abstract
Chronic urticaria is a skin disorder that can be defined by papules or swollen and itchy plaques for up to 6 weeks. Chronic urticaria is a common medical condition. Urticaria is not a disease but an inflammatory reaction that is affected by various factors that cause the degranulation of our skin cells and the release of plasma into the skin. Now, in this study, we try to collect the information of patients registered in the clinic and skin department of Sina Educational and Medical Center as much as possible to investigate the relationship between Anti-TPO autoantibodies in chronic urticaria patients who are commonly resistant to common treatments. Are paying to help these patients recover by replacing thyroid hormones.Materials and Methods: In this study, case-control was performed by collecting 63 samples of chronic urticaria and 63 control patients at the skin clinic and by measuring anti-TPO autoantibodies (Anti-TPO). First, the rate of anti-thyroperoxidase autoantibodies was measured in both groups Anti-TPO> 40 IU / ml positive and Anti-TPO <40Iu / ml negative were reported in Sina Hospital laboratory kits. Also, the amount of thyroid stimulating hormone was measured to ensure that thyroid function was not impaired in the control group. At the end, the presence of antibodies in both groups was measured and based on the results of the study, effective treatments for thyroiditis, such as thyroid hormone replacement, can be used to treat patients with chronic urticaria. Results:In this study, 63 patients with urticaria were examined with 63 patients who referred to a dermatologist for other reasons. The prevalence of Anti TPO antibodies in both the control group and the control group in women was about 3.5 times higher than in men. The average age of patients with urticaria is about 40.52±15.12. The duration of the disease in chronic urticaria patients is 8months. The duration of this disease varies from 6 weeks to 12 years. In this study, there was no significant difference between age, sex, mean TSH, Anti TPO, and frequency of antithyroid antibodies in control and control groups.
