The Effect of Education on Knowledge of People with over 50 Years Old, about Colorectal Cancer in Tabriz, 1994.
Abstract
Abstract: The research is a quasi –experimental study, which has been performed in order to investigate the effect of education on over 50 year's old people's knowledge about colorectal cancer in Tabriz in 1994. It consists of one goal and two special objectives which are about nature of colorectal cancer and its screening with F.O.B.T. In this research 80 over 50 years old parents of the female high school students from the fourfold educational district were chosen. The sampling method were randomly and purposive sampling, respectively. The data were collected through questionnaires. The questionnaire was made in two parts: 1) Demographics 2) the knowledge of the subjects about colorectal cancer. In order to achieve the research objectives descriptive and inferential statistics have been used. Results, have been presented on 56 tables and 17 charts. The findings of this study showed with 95-99% confidentiality that education can increase the subject's knowledge. In addition, the results did not reveal significant correlation between the subject's knowledge and demographics, so the thesis of the research is confirmed. At the end, the researcher has presented recommendations on the basis of this research findings for application of findings and further research in nursing education and other health therapeutic fields.
