The Effective Factors on Regimen Following-up with Pulmonary TB Patients in Sanandaj city, 1995.
Abstract
Abstract: A descriptive survey was conducted to investigate the effective factors regarding follow up therapeutic regimens for people with pulmonary TB referring to TB control center of Sanandaj city. 110 patients were selected as subjects through convenience sampling. Data was gathered by a questionnaire including 58 items and was completed through structured interview. The findings were presented in 36 tables and 4 diagrams. The results showed that vast majority of subjects were female, married, and illiterate, with low income, aged 15 -24, 35 -44 and were not knowledge about tuberculosis medication and follow up of management. The majority of subjects also had negative attitude concerning follow up therapeutic regimens, did not take proper diet, did not take medication regularly, did not refer to clinic for periodic examination, and did not obtain chest X – ray and sputum assessment. The data was analyzed using Pearson product moment coefficient of correlation and chi- square test. The result showed statistically significant correlation between variables such as income, the period (duration) of illness, the relapse of disease and taking medication regularly. Besides results showed statistically correlation between age and psycho –social status, and knowledge concerning drug therapy. On the basis of the results of this study, the report finally discusses the application of findings in nursing care and offers some suggestions to future investigations on the topic.
