The Causes of Unwanted Pregnancies in Women referring to Health Centers in Tabriz, 1995.

Abstract

Abstract: Objective: To identify the causes of unwanted pregnancies. Design: This is descriptive study which data were gathered by a questionnaire including 4 part (Demographics, Fancily planning functions, personal and family causes). Setting: 11 health center from 30 perinatal care center in Tabriz data obtained from pregnant women. Participants: 200 pregnant women whom have been selected with random sampling method. Results: The results of the research using descriptive and comprehensive statics presented in 17 diagrams and 32 tables as following: The causes of unwanted pregnancies were: 1) family planning functions (89.5%). 2) personal causes (42.5%). 3) family causes (31%). Conclusion: As unwanted pregnancies are one of the major problems in our country in general Tabriz in particular, the regional conditions and finding practical way of reducing these pregnancies using the results of this research in educational, health and treatment centers can reduce the cost resulting from adverse consequences.
