The Effect of Respiratory Exercises on Respiratory Disorder Prevention among Patients undergoing Thoracic Surgery, Sanandaj, 1995.

Abstract: This is a Clinical trial study. Researcher independent to investigate the effect of respiratory exercises on the respiratory disorder of the patients after thoracic surgery. In the study researcher, implement respiratory exercises (independent variables) in addition to the routine care, and studied their effect on appearing respiratory disorder in the patients. (Dependent variable). In the study hospitalized patient in the general and thoracic surgery ward at selected educational Hospital research population. The subjects of the study (n=30) were selected purposive sampling and assied randomly in two experimental control groups. Data were gathered with check list for interviewing and questioning, check list developed in four parts, the first part included the background characters of subjects, the second part concern information about intra and post –operative, the third part includes information about the examination of lungs and result of spirometry, and the fourth part includes self – report of respiratory exercises and movement. The finding of this research has been summarized in 54 tables. The data has been analyzed through descriptive and analytical statistics. Results of the research have indicated two groups were comparable in individual and intra-operative characteristics and were matched. This research by achieving its objects eventually resulted in conclusions based on its hypothesis, thus this research hypothesis was supported that post -operative respiratory disorder after respiratory exercises are decreased. There was a significant differences between two groups (0.002<p<0.05).
