Evaluation of the Rate of Mothers' Care Expectations Meeting by Care Givers in Educational and Medical Maternity Hospitals in Tabriz, 1997.

Abstract
Abstract: Introduction: Childbirth is an important life experience for women and exert a profound physical, mental, emotional and social effect on her and her development as a mother but the impact of the childbirth is not limited to the mother, the birth of a child represents a landmark event in the lives of all family that extremity will be, in some way, reflect their society current values, therefore, the study of the current care model and its quality of caring of mothers in necessary. Objective: To determine the rate of mothers care expectations meeting by care givers of Laboring mothers, who were admitted to two education and treatment maternity hospitals of Tabriz, in four area of care, physical, informational, affective and ethical. Methods & Materials: This is a descriptive study. In this study 100 mothers (who have characteristics of subjects and were admitted to educational and treatment centers of Taleghanee and Alzahra), have been chosen on the base of convenience sampling method. The way of data collection was interview. Instrument of data collection containing 47 questions of following area: (a) characteristics of mothers (7 questions), (b) physical care (10 questions), (c) informational care (10 questions), affective care (10 questions), (e) ethical care (10 questions). For achieving the goals of the study descriptive and inferential statistics was used. Results is shown in 21 tables. Results: Based on the results of this study care expectations of mothers were being met in 43.80%, that about physical care in 44.23%, informational care in 48.30%, affective care in 41.28% and ethical care in 40.50%. Discussion & Conclusion: The results of study suggesting that in majority of cases the expectations of mothers were not being met and a major difficulty is being unable to give care of mothers, especially in ethical care, in the fullest way desired, The researcher has presented some suggestions according to the results of research for application and for performance next studies.
