Assessment of Nursing Support Effect on the Level of Patient’s Depression undergoing Cardiac Surgery in Tabriz Shahid Madani Hospital in 1999.

Abstract
Abstract: Introduction: Physiological diseases affect psychological aspects and because cardiac surgery is very stressful, it causes negative psychological reaction in patients. Depression is a psychological reaction in this patients and nursing support reduces this reaction. Method & Material: This research was a semi-experimental study through which the effect of nursing support on the level of patient’s depression undergoing cardiac surgery is examined. In this study two groups including experimental and control group were studied. Data collecting instrument was a questionnaire. Research sample consisted of all patients waiting for cardiac surgery in Tabriz Shahid Madani in Ordibehesht and Khordad months. 40 case in experimental group and 30 case in control group were selected. For analysis of data, descriptive and inferential statistic was used. Results: Final results showed that the level of depression was lesser in experimental group which received nursing support than control group in discharge time. In this study there is a significant correlation between depression and the level of education, Job and frequency of addition due to heart disease.
