Assessment of Education based on Self Care Conceptual Model on Quality of Life Metabolic Control in NIDDM Patient in Diabetic Educational Center in Tabriz
Abstract
Abstract:
Introduction: This research is an quasi experimental design that carried out in "Education based on self care conceptual model on quality of life metabolic control in NIDDM patient in diabetic educational center in To city".
Methods:137 NIDDM patient were selected random sampling method Instrument of data gathering was questionnaire about :social - demographic data, therapeutic self care demands, health deviation demands, Self care agency, health related quality of life, specific quality of life and metabolic control (BMJ, cholesterol, triglyceride, HBA1C, BS, SBP, DBP, signs, hypo and hyperglycemia). Results: In this research ,one group was selected randomly and sequential after pretest was done , group educational program was carried out and then after 1 month individual education program was done and after 6 month post test and HBA1C test designed.
In order to test the first research hypothesis results showed that after education there are significant difference between before and 6 month quality of life (P=0.0001), however there are significant difference between physical function (P=0.001),pain (P=0.02),activity daily living (P=0.001),sleep (P=0.0001) General health (P=0.005), problem with diabetes (P=0.0001).
In order to test the second research hypothesis ,results showed significant difference between cholesterol (P=0.03),HBA1C (P=0.0001),BS (P=0.0001), hypoglycemia (P=0.001), signs(P=0.001).
In order to achieve the self care conceptual model and identify therapeutic self care demands were used path analysis. The results showed that quality of life effected by fluid and elimination status and metabolic control effected by past health deviation history. self care agency include knowledge ,judgment -decision making and practice .metabolic control effected by knowledge ,judgment -decision making and practice.
