Viewpoints of Schizophrenic Patient, their Families and Nurse regarding Effective Factors in Noncompliance whit Medication Regimen in Razi Teaching Hospital Center Tabriz , Iran, 2001

Introduction: schizophrenia is the most common psychotic disorder. Schizophrenia patients occupy approximately 50 percent of psychiatric hospital beds. Psychopharmacological interventions is an important aspect schizophrenia disorder in treatment. Studies have showed that noncompliance whit medication regimen is the main factor in recurrence of symptoms and readmission of schizophrenia patient. Therefore, Identify the effective factors in noncompliance with medication regimen of schizophrenic patients seems to be necessary.
Methods and materials: this descriptive – comparative study was conducted to identify the viewpoints of schizophrenia patient. Their compliance whit medication regarding factor which are effective in noncompliance whit medication regimen in schizophrenia patient. Data were collected by using a questionnaire based on health belief model and sample size consisted of 60 patient, 60 their families and 33 nurse. Data were analyzed by using ANOVA and scheff tests.
Conclusion: Findings showed that perception and attitude of nurses and patient’s families and patients regarding effective factors in non- compliance with medication regimen based on health belief Model are not congruent but perception and attitude of patients with their family and nurses are not congruent. Therefore this study results may offer attention necessity of client education, their families and participating nurses in continuing programmers in this background.
