Effect of oral Nicorandil on ST segment resolution in patients with STEMI treated with primary angioplasty
چکیده
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of oral Nicorandil on the resolution of ST segment in acute STEMI patients undergoing primary angioplasty.
Materials and Methods: In this study, 240 patients with acute STEMI candidates for primary angioplasty who referred to the Emergency Department of Shahid Madani Hospital from July 2015 to June 2017 were randomly divided into two groups receiving routine treatment with Nicorandil and without Nicorandil. The Nicorandil group received 20 mg of oral Nicorandil in addition to routine treatments before being transferred to the cat lab and 20 mg before angiography department. The control group received only routine anti-ischemic treatments.
Results: The rate of ST resolution after PPCI in case group was 79% (68.1%) above 50%. In the control group, ST segment resolution after PPCI in 78 patients (62.9%) was higher than 50%. There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of ST segment resolution after PPCI (p = 0.275).
Also there was no statistically significant difference between two groups in terms of TIMI FLOW (p=0/564). But in terms of MACE statistic difference was significant.(p=0/012)
