Abstract
The current study investigated the association between chronic anterior sinusitis with width and height of ethmoid sinus. Material and Methods: The current study was a cross-sectional study which was carried out on 424 patients who were referred with clinical signs of rhinosinusitis to ENT center of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. Study participants were categorized into healthy and sinusitis groups based on level of sinus involvement. We used CT images in order to calculate ethmoid height and width. Results: The current study was performed on 424 n adult with sinusitis clinical signs, 64.4% of whom were men. Overall prevalence of rhinosinusitis was 28.0%. In healthy group the mean was 4.61±1.85 for right ethmoid height, 4.77±1.33 for left side and 7.65±1.68 for right ethmoid width and 7.81±2.47 for left side. In sinusitis group the mean was 4.05±1.33 for right ethmoid height and 4.49±1 for left side and 7.12±1.21 for right ethmoid width and 7.71±1.43 for left side. We estimated correlation coefficients for rhinosinusitis score and ethmoid sinus height and width which were not statistically significant.
