Background: According to the World Health Organization, 41/3 % of all deaths from heart disease in 2005 and is projected by 2020 to 44/8 percent. One of the most common myocardial infarction diagnosis of heart disease in developing countries. Debilitating nature of the disease and crippling stroke that greatly affected the quality of life of patients into. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the impact of the disease on quality of life of patients admitted to the Madani hospital in Tabriz.
Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study with a sample of 250 male and female patients with myocardial infarction more than 4 months of last myocardial infarction was carried out. Systematic random sampling method (regular), respectively. The data for telephone interviews using a questionnaire heart of Minnesota (MLHFQ) were collected. To analyze the data, descriptive and inferential statistics (Kruskal-Wallis test, Mann-Whitney and Spearman correlation coefficient) Spss.23 were using the software.
Results: The mean age of patients was 58/06 ± 11/85 years and 18/2% of patients were female and 81/8% were male. The total average score of myocardial infarction impact on the quality of life of 105 is equivalent to 31/78 is obtained. The mean scores in the physical dimension of the score 40, 14/12, emotional of scoring 25, 6/36 and General of the score was 40, 11/004 . Among the demographic variables, age (p=0/04), education (p=0/008), employment (p=0/000), number of hospitalizations (p=0/005) and gender only in the physical dimension (p=0/01), underlying medical condition (p=0/006) and income (p=0/000) with an average impact of myocardial infarction on quality of life were significantly correlated. But There was no statistically correlation between marital status (p=0/4), Duration of disease (p=0/7), smoking (p=0/9) and rehabilitation services (p=0/5) with an average impact of the disease on quality of life.
Discussion and conclusion:
The results of this study showed that patients with a myocardial infraction is reduced quality of life and The maximum impact of the disease is the physical dimension, it is essential that families and healthcare planners to raise their quality of life measures. In addition to improving the ability of function patients', particularly women, who have lower quality of life in the physical dimension it is recommended that the use of a cardiac rehabilitation program.
