Abstract
In this study, we decided to find a clear link between tramadol consumption and seizures and recurrence, and if possible, to provide an appropriate protocol according to the research results. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional descriptive study, all patients who were studied due to tramadol poisoning from April 2018to April 2019. Tramadol poisoning patients 'information was extracted from the patients' files in the emergency room. Information including patient complaint, dose of tramadol, type of seizure in case of seizures, follow-up of the patient to review recurrent seizures in the hospital, hospitalization in the ICU were examined. Results: In the present study, 52 patients with tramadol poisoning were examined. Among these cases, 7 had seizures and 45 patients had referred to the hospital with other complaints. Of these 7 patients, 4 (57%) had recurrent seizures.98.1% of patients were male and 1.9% were female. All seizures were tonic-clonic. In the present study, the mean consumption of tramadol in people with seizures was 2657.14± 618 and in people who did not suffer from seizures due to the use of tramadol, the average dose was 1371.11±314.
