Determining good doctor criteria from the perspective of inpatients and their relatives in hospitals of Tabriz city
Abstract
In this study, we tried to present this relationship and the characteristics of a good physician to the patients and their companions in order to study the best results in communicating with patients and their satisfaction.
Materials and Methods: In this exploratory study, the data collection method will be qualitative and based on semi-structured interview and content analysis. What are the criteria for a good physician in your opinion?) After the data has reached saturation, a list of criteria will be prepared and categorized by content analysis and an initial questionnaire will be extracted. The questionnaire will be completed by reviewing the literature and expert opinion, and 2 to 4 experts will be provided for validation. For reliability, only a limited number of questionnaires will be given to patients and partners. After determining the validity and reliability, questionnaires will be presented to the study subjects and after collecting the questionnaires the results will be analyzed and the results will be extracted. This study will be performed on patients admitted to Tabriz hospitals and their companions. The sample selection method is simple sampling and the number of samples is calculated by Morgan table with 5 samples. The criteria for admission to the study are hospitals in Tabriz and their affiliates.
Results: After interviewing 22 patients (12 patients and 10 accompanying patients) and determining validity and reliability, the characteristics of "1- Creating the right environment for conversation 2-Truth-telling 3- patient education 4-Experticity5-Psychological support 6- Respect for privacy and confidentiality 7. Time management 8. Attention to patient's financial status 9- Improving quality of care 10- Professional dressing 11-Friendliness 12-Conscientiousness 13-Conflict of interest "was extracted. Questionnaire with CVI of 0.99 and CVR of 0.80 confirmed validity and reliability. 384 Hospitalized Patients and Their Companions described the most important criteria of a good physician in the Order of Experticity Proper conflict management of interests, truth-telling, conscientiousness, providing good quality care, respect for privacy and confidentiality, establishing an effective communication framework, altruism, providing patient education and appropriate professional dressing
