Quality of physician visits in specialized clinic of Sheikh Al Raeis in Tabriz: 2014

Background and Objectives: Improvement of the services quality leads to delivery optimal services and increases the satisfaction and finally, decrease next visit. Services quality of visit reduces costs for the system provides. Patients want a real relationship between themselves and physicians. If this relationship improved, services quality will effect on improvement of health patients. The aim of this study is quality of physician visits in specialized clinic of Sheikh Al Raeis in Tabriz.
Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 2014. Sample of study is 437 patients and the sampling was systematic random. Quality domains of checklist included the field of structure quality, process and outcomes. Finally, analysis was done using SPSS-19.
Results: The findings of the study showed that the average of time 8.52 min for physician visits. Also, specialists 7.21 min spent time for patients. The average of waiting time was 101.57 min for patients. The average of prescribed drugs was 2.34 drugs. The results showed that the structural quality was 50.82 percent, process quality was 62.69 percent and outcome quality (patients’ satisfaction) was 50.82 percent.
Conclusion: Visit time was shorter than other developed and developing countries. The starting point of health care delivery to patients is consultation. If the consultation process in health care delivery to patients is incorrect or incomplete, the following process will be without quality and security. This study showed that visit time is short and waiting time is very long. This leads to services quality of visit was shorter than 65 percent.
