Background:Cancers are the leading causes of death in Western societies. The growing cancers in developing countries and in Iran after cardiovascular disease and accidents, cancer is the third leading cause of death. Gastric cancer is the fourth most common cancer and the second leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide after lung cancer.Given the high prevalence of gastric cancer in the country, especially the provinces of East Azarbaijan and high cost of treatment of these diseases and the impact on household welfare The aim of this study was to estimate direct medical costs and indirect treatment of patients with gastric cancer is in Tabriz in 2015.
Materials and Methods:And is a cross-sectional descriptive-analytic study. This study martyr judge in Tabriz and from the perspective of the patient's cancer center in 1394 was The study population included all patients with gastric cancer who were admitted to Tabriz judge Cancer Center martyr in the period of 6 months of diagnosis were first formed. A questionnaire was used to collect data. On the day of discharge data were collected through interviews with patients or accompanying him. Finally, data was analyzed by spss statistical tests were analyzed according to variables.
Results:Based on the results of the study, the average direct medical costs £ 19403173, 12247830 Average direct costs of non-treatment of 31651003 rials and the average direct cost of Rials, respectively.
Conclusion:New policies cover costs related to the cancer patient especially by insurance agencies, financial support from financial institutionsSuch as banks or charities, distribution centers or providing accommodation for cancer patients who come from the cityIn addition to achieving health equity can reduce financial barriers faced by cancer patients to help patients better manage their disease.
