Diagnostic value of CK19, HBME1, GALECTIN3 for diagnosis of papillary thyroid carcinoma from FNA samples
Abstract
Accordingly in this study, the expression of Immunohistochemical markers (Galectin3, HBME-1, CK19) in benign and malignant thyroid lesion was assessed.Material and Methods: In this diagnostic study, 48 thyroid slides (34 benign and 14 malignant) under surgery in Imam-Reza Hospital in Tabriz in 2015 and 2016 were assessed and expression of Immunohistochemical markers (Galectin3, HBME-1, CK19) in thyroid lesion were evaluated and compared between benign a nd malignant groups. Results: HBME1 had sensitivity and specificity of 94.1% and 42.9%, respectively (P=0.005), Galectin3 had sensitivity and specificity of 100% and 42.9%, respectively (P=0.0001), and CK19 had sensitivity and specificity of 85.3% and 57.1%, respectively (P=0.005). FNA had sensitivity and specificity of 85.3% and 57.1%, respectively (P=0.005).
