Assessment of demographic and risk factors of stroke in people under 65 years
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the risk factors and demographics of patients with stroke who were under 65 years of age.Methods: In this retrospective cross-sectional study, the data will be integer (census). All patients younger than 65 years of age with complaints and final diagnosis of stroke were admitted to the emergency department of Imam Reza Hospital during the years 2016 to 2018. Then data including age, sex, stroke type and risk factors were entered into SPSS 20.0 software and will be analyzed for normal distribution. Descriptive statistical method will be calculated if it follows normal distribution. If the distribution does not follow the normal distribution, the prevalence of 25% to 75% will be reported. Linear regression will be used to examine the relationship between the data.Results: In this study 392 patients referred for stroke during 2 years with age below 65 years. The mean age of the patients was 51.45 10 10.64 years with a mean age of 54 years and a mean of 64 years with a minimum age of 15 years and a maximum age of 64 years. In the history of PMH, 230 (58.7%) patients had hypertension and 31 (7.9%) had hyperlipidemia, 80 (20.4%) had diabetes, 51 (13%) had They had previous strokes and 46 patients (11.7%) had a history of cardiovascular disease. In the social history (S.H.) of patients, 19 (18.9%) had a history of smoking, 1 (0.3%) had a history of alcohol use and 1 had both. In this study, the outcome of 63 patients was cured (16.1%), 111 (28.3%) died and 218 (55.6%) partially recovered.
