Design and assessment of Pelvic Floor Disorders Registry System in Urology Clinics of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences

Background: pelvic floor disorders information system to provide a unified source for the enhancement of patient care and conduct research on the disease.
Objective: The purpose of this study was design and assessment of the information system for pelvic floor disorders.
Method: Data elements were extracted from various texts and registry systems. Then, in the form of a first questionnaire from the expert's panel, Surveys were conducted on the necessity and non-necessity of data elements. For determining the significance of the data elements, a Likert scale of 5 points was used. The content validity of the questionnaire was evaluated by experts' opinions and reliability of the questionnaires was carried out using Cronbach's alpha method. Then, according to existing data classes, a web-based information system was designed and the system using a system's standard questionnaire was evaluated.
Findings: Two categories of data, including 74 data items, were identified in the pelvic floor disorders information system, including demographic data and clinical data. Based on the existing data elements, the web-based registry system was designed and the system was evaluated by users with a standard questionnaire and according to the average score, the system was evaluated at a good level.
Conclusion: In this study, information system was designed based on comprehensive data elements for hospital, surgical and clinic patients. Therefore, this system can be useful for research purposes and to improve the quality of health care to patients.
