Abstract
The purpose of this study was to Comparison of surgical clipping and interventional coiling in the progressive anterior circulation aneurysms of brain.Materials and Methods: In this retrospective descriptive study, 120 patients who were admitted at Imam Reza Hospital and Shams Hospital of Tabriz city until 1394 were studied. The sampling method was randomized using random number table and patient file number. Data collected from clinical records of patients. Results: The mean ± SD of pre-operative GCS score in the clipping surgery group was 10.43 ± 1.11 and in the interventional coiling group was 10.41 ± 1.02; postoperative GCS score in the surgical clipping group was 12.51 ± 1.18 and in interventional coiling group was 14.56 ± 1.11. There was no significant correlation between pre-operative GCS changes between the two groups (p=0.845); however, in GCS changes after the surgery, there was a significant correlation between the two groups (p=0.001).
