Investigating the effect of social and economic factors on the attitude of diabetic patients towards behaviors Self-care
Abstract
Abstract
Introduction and Objective: Chronic diseases are long-term illnesses that are rarely completely cured. One of the most common chronic diseases is diabetes, which has a very high level of self-care in reducing the complications. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of social and economic factors on the attitude of diabetic patients towards self-care behaviors.
Research Method: The present study is a descriptive-analytical study that was conducted cross-sectionally in 0398. The sample size of 071 diabetic patients referred to the clinics of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences. The collection tool was a two-part questionnaire that the questioner completed through an interview with patients. Data analysis was performed through SPSS software and ANOVA T-test, and Pearson correlation coefficient.
Results: The results showed that the majority of the subjects studied had a positive attitude towards the self-care behaviors of type 2 diabetes and between social variables such as membership in virtual and real groups (P = 1011), education (P = 1011) and family members support (P = 1011) and economic variables, ie the level of income of individuals (p = 1010) and attitudes towards self-care behaviors in the field of type 2 diabetes, there is a significant correlation and difference, while a significant difference compared to insurance coverage variables (p = 1046) and place of residence. There were no individuals (p = 1002).
Conclusion: Given the correlation between some social and economic variables and people's attitudes toward the self-care of diabetic patients, as well as the impact of attitudes on self-care behaviors and the beneficial effects of these behaviors on disease control, proper methods should be used to control this.
Variables should be adopted both materially and spiritually, including the researcher's proposed methods of holding repeated training classes for these people, providing appropriate pamphlets, allocating suitable environments and green spaces for diabetic patients, creating appropriate virtual groups, and so on. Fun, identifying type 2 diabetics who don't have enough family support or income, and creating group spaces for them.
