Abstract
Abstract Introduction: In addition to be responsible for improving the health of individuals, health system is obliged to protect them against the financial cost of illness and frustration. According to the World Health Organization (۲۰۱۳), the share of Out-of-Pocket payments in Iran's health system is higher than the average of countries in the region and even the average of low-income countries. Objective: study the contribution of various factors affecting Out-of-Pocket payments in hospital services Research method: This study is a descriptive-quantitative study that has been done on cross-sectional basis (۲۰۱٥-۲۰۱٦). The research population of this study is admitted patients with ٥ common diseases in Imam Reza Hospital in Tabriz city, out of which ٤۱٥ patients are selected as sample size. The data collection tool is a researcher-made form that is used after confirmation of face validity by relevant experts. Data is collected from two sources of patient bills and interviews with patients. Descriptive statistics are used for data analysis. Results: The findings of this study show that nose surgery has the highest share (٦۲٫٤٪) and gallbladder surgery (۷٫٥٪) has the lowest patient contribution in Out-of-Pocket payment, and lumbar disc surgery (۱۰٫۷٪), hernia (۸٫۳٪), appendix (۷٫۸٪) have the largest share of the patient as Out-of-Pocket payments, respectively. On the patient's bill, other expenses accounted for ٥۷٫۲٪ and the cost of equipment and medical supplies have the highest share of Out-of-Pocket payments (۲۰٫۳٪). Conclusion: Based on the findings of the research, it can be concluded that the high Out-of-Pocket payment in nasal surgery compared to the average payment of other surgeries can be ذ due to the prevention of induced demand due to the inclusion of this type of surgery in the list of cosmetic surgeries.
