Results of simultaneous ACL reconstruction and lateral distal Femoral close wedge osteotomy in patients with ACL tear and Genuvarum

Abstract
The aim of this study was to surveying on the results of simultaneous ACL reconstruction and lateral distal Femoral close wedge osteotomy in patients with ACL tear and Genuvarum.MethodsIn this descriptive cross-sectional study, 19 patients with anterior cruciate ligament rupture and Genuvarum who had been referred to knee clinic of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences during a period of time (from April 2014 to end June 2017), after necessary work up ,arthroscopic ACL reconstruction surgery and also simultaneous lateral distal Femoral close wedge osteotomy were performed.We determined the stability ,function, range of motion of the knee and osteotomy site healing before and after study.ResultsThe mean and standard deviation of patient`s age were 37 ± 5.26 years. Mean IKDC score after intervention (86.2) increased compared to the same score after intervention (61.6) (p = 0.0001). Lachman test was negative in all 19 patiens after surgery. The results of the KOSS questionnaire showed mean score of pain before the intervention (56.8%) and after the intervention (83.8%), the mean score of the symptoms before the intervention (53.3%) and after intervention (86), the mean scores related to daily activities of life before intervention (64.1) compared to the same score after intervention (87.1), mean scores related to exercise and recreational activities before intervention (45.2) Compared to the same score after intervention (83.4), the mean scores related to quality of life in relation to knee problems before intervention (48.6) compared to the same score after the intervention (84.1) were statistically significant (It is for all p=0/001).
