چکیده
Abstract: Introduction: The presence of the family during resuscitation in developing countries such as Iran is not officially and fully implemented. One of the effective factors in accepting and implementing it is the attitude and self-confidence of nurses. Aim: The present study was conducted to evaluate the attitude and self-confidence of emergency nurses regarding the presence of the family during resuscitation and to determine the relationship between them. Methods: This study was conducted in 7 educational hospitals in Tabriz and 140 nurses working in the emergency department accidentally participated in this study. The Individual Social Information Questionnaire, the Nurses 'Attitude Questionnaire, which included 19 questions, and the Nurses' Self-Confidence Questionnaire, which included 17 questions, were used. Data were analyzed using descriptive and analytical statistics in SPSS21 software. Results: The mean score of emergency nurses' attitude towards the presence of the family during resuscitation (with the lowest score of 39 and the highest score of 85) is 60.36 ± 8.82. The mean score of the participants' self-confidence in the presence of family members during resuscitation (with a minimum score of 21 and a maximum score of 79) is 52.91 ± 12.69. There was a strong positive correlation between attitudes and participants' confidence in the family's presence during resuscitation (P = 0.00 r = -0.75 n = 140). Nurses with less than 5 years of experience had a lower self-confidence score than nurses with a longer history. Conclusion: The attitude of nurses regarding the presence of the family in resuscitation can affect the acceptance or rejection of this program. Therefore, awareness of the factors affecting the attitude of nurses is very important. One of these factors is the self-confidence of nurses. With high self-confidence, they have a more positive attitude towards family presence in resuscitation. Nurses with more experience and work experience also have higher self-confidence and a more positive attitude toward family resuscitation.
